Andrew Dixon
Founder and CEO
Nikoi and Cempedak Islands
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Andrew spent the first 20 years of his career working in banking in finance, before arriving in Singapore where he stumbled across the unspoilt beaches and islands of nearby Indonesia. Together with some friends they developed Nikoi Island and then subsequently Cempedak Island as boutique resorts using bamboo and driftwood and without air-conditioning. Working closely with the local communities they have helped establish three local foundations that focused on improving education standards in the local villages which impact the lives of thousands of children. The foundations also worked on protecting the local marine environment through the establishment of a Marine Protected Area and helped remove hundreds of tonnes of plastic from the ocean.
