Director of Sustainability, Marina Bay Sands

Roger Simons is the Director of Sustainability at Marina Bay Sands. In this role, Roger helps drive sustainability initiatives in areas including property performance, product innovation, partnerships, certifications, staff and consumer engagement across the integrated resort. His work has contributed to Marina Bay Sands becoming the largest hotel in Singapore to be certified by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council Industry Criteria for Hotels and Accommodation in 2022. Prior to joining Marina Bay Sands in 2017, Roger was the Regional Sustainability Director (APAC) for MCI Group working with leading clients, destinations and venues to craft sustainable business tourism strategies. Roger was a Resource Person on Sustainable Tourism for the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Leaders Programme (CIFAL) and sat on Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Business Management, Hospitality & Tourism Industry Panel. His industry experience also includes being past president of the Green Meeting Industry Council and past co-chair of the National Environment Agency’s 3R MICE Recycling Taskforce.
